Once again we opened the Kyle Hall on Saturday afternoons for young people in primary 4 up to primary 7. This youth club was supported by Highland Cares funding. We were able to supply fresh healthy snacks to all the young people who attended. We had a variety of crafts and team games. Another successful and busy winter term.
The senior youth drop in was aslo fortunate to be supported by Highland Cares funding. We employed a youth worker, in collaboration with Kyle and Lochalsh Community Trust. The Youth worker ran cooking session with the young people at the lighthouse centre in Kyle of Lochalsh.
Alongside the senior Youth drop in LYCT was able to run a seperate health and wellbeing project. The project involved young people signing up for exercise classes to improve their fitness. The project culminated in a weekend down in Torrin outdoor centre. Everyone took part in the 'Rockman' challenge which involved running for 2 miles every 4 hours during a 24 hour period.
Gus Louden, another youth worker took groups up to Portree climbing centre throughout the winter months.
